Our History
Since the incorporation of Shalem Society for Senior Citizens Care in 1974, we have felt called by God to care for our seniors in a Christian setting. In 1981 the Society opened the doors of Shalem Manor; a 50 unit government subsidized housing facility. In 2001 we added the 50 unit life lease condominium called Shalem Court. Both these buildings are self-contained and require independent living. The Society is committed to that care and is stepping out in faith by adding Shalem Haven, an affordable supportive living facility. With the completion of construction in the Spring of 2012 the Society will be able to provide the Christian community with 43 units for seniors who require more support. Shalem Haven is specifically designed with private rooms, large common areas and features to allow our seniors to “age in place” through the provisions of services such as meals, housekeeping, life enrichment activities, 24 hour monitoring, emergency response, and security.
